The urban mobility industry in Bolivia was facing increasing concerns related to passenger safety, particularly for women using traditional transportation services.

Frida, an emerging mobility startup, identified the opportunity to create a women-centered transportation platform where female passengers could request rides driven exclusively by verified female drivers.

The customer required a complete digital ecosystem composed of mobile applications for passengers and drivers, as well as a web administration platform to manage operations, monitoring, reservations, security events, and service quality. The challenge was not only technological, but also operational, since the platform needed to support real-time geolocation, emergency workflows, reservation management, digital onboarding, and scalable administration capabilities while maintaining a simple and trustworthy user experience.

The client faced several technical and operational limitations that prevented the rapid launch of the service.

There was no existing platform architecture capable of supporting real-time ride management, driver validation, GPS tracking, SOS monitoring, and customer interaction within a unified ecosystem.

In addition, the solution required integration with external services such as SMS verification, geolocation services, Google Maps routing, and mobile notifications. Scalability and operational visibility were also critical concerns because the business model depended on monitoring active taxis, reservations, customer histories, and security alerts in real time. Another major challenge was ensuring reliability and trust in the onboarding process for female drivers, including document validation, manual approval workflows, and operational monitoring. The platform also needed to support Android, iOS, and web channels simultaneously while maintaining a consistent and intuitive user experience for both passengers and drivers.

The SSI
Solution

Salamanca Solutions International designed and implemented a complete digital mobility ecosystem tailored to Frida’s operational and security requirements. The platform comprised three integrated applications: the Frida passenger mobile app, the YoFrida driver app, and a centralized web administration platform.

The solution incorporated advanced geolocation and ride-tracking capabilities, real-time route monitoring, reservation management, and the “Accompany Me” trip-sharing functionality. SSI implemented multi-step driver onboarding including SMS authentication, digital document capture, vehicle validation, and administrative approval workflows. SOS emergency capabilities with configurable alerts and direct communication options were integrated throughout the platform.
